Cookie Policy

Last revised : 2026-09-27

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the Site, their purpose, how long they are kept and how to manage them. The Digital Code of the Republic of Benin contains no provision specific to cookies: this page therefore rests on the general principles of its Book V — information, defined purpose, minimisation and consent — and on the guidance of the Personal Data Protection Authority. We obtain your free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent before any non-essential tracker is set.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It allows information about you to be stored and makes your subsequent visits easier. Local storage technologies (localStorage) play a comparable role and are also described below.

2. Our approach: minimisation

We have chosen a Site that is conservative in terms of trackers. We use no advertising cookies, no third-party social network cookies and no marketing retargeting trackers. The Site remains fully usable if you refuse all non-essential cookies.

3. Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential to the operation of the Site and cannot be disabled without certain features ceasing to work, in particular signing in to your account. They are set without prior consent, in accordance with the guidance of the Personal Data Protection Authority, and are not used for advertising purposes.

Local storage (localStorage) is used to keep your cart, wishlist, display theme and language, without transmitting data to a server.

4. Audience measurement

The Site uses a self-hosted audience measurement solution (Umami), configured without cookies: it sets no cookies and uses no advertising identifier. It measures traffic statistics only (page views, purchase events) without advertising profiling.

You may refuse this measurement without affecting your browsing, your cart or the checkout process.

5. Account security and anti-fraud

When creating an account or claiming a promotional code, the Site may read a technical fingerprint of your browser, without collecting any content data. This fingerprint is used solely to prevent fraud, the abusive creation of multiple accounts and the abusive reuse of promotional codes. It does not allow us to identify you personally.

6. Managing your preferences

You may change your choices at any time:

  1. From the banner shown on your first visit, or via the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of every page of the Site;
  2. Through your browser settings, by deleting cookies at any time.

Procedures vary by browser: Chrome (Settings, Privacy and security, Cookies), Firefox (Options, Privacy & Security, Cookies), Safari (Settings, Privacy, Cookies), Edge (Settings, Cookies and site permissions). Disabling cookies entirely may prevent the use of certain features, in particular signing in to your account.

7. Contact

For any question relating to cookies, write to support@vanterraglobal.com or to our Data Protection Officer: gratiasgnanvo@gmail.com. You may also contact the Personal Data Protection Authority (contact@apdp.bj).
